One morning my daughter Wren barged in with a notebook she couldn’t wait to show my wife and me. Every page was covered in scribbles and drawings, and she walked us through the whole thing, adventure by adventure.
We’d seen her do this a hundred times, just in different ways. On the couch going through photos from the weekend. In bed talking about our day. Wren always has her own version of what happened, and it’s usually a lot more entertaining than ours.
But that notebook stuck with me.
Like most parents, we have thousands of photos and videos on our phones. We’ve documented pretty much everything. But the best parts weren’t in any of them. The stories she tells, the little things she notices that we totally missed, the funny stuff she says.
And it all changes so fast. Her voice, the way she says things, how she sees the world. Most of what makes this age special never makes it into a photo.
I couldn’t stop thinking about it. What if families had a way to hold on to more of that, and make something together that includes everyone’s side of the story?
So that’s what I’ve spent this fall doing. Building a company around it, because I really believe the stories we tell together are worth keeping.
We’re calling it Jelly Pebble.
It’s still early. We’re building it with a small group of founding families and launching in 2027. If you’re a parent and this sounds like your house, I’d love to hear from you.
